Documentary on the Late Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi – Must Watch Videos

Meles Zenawi’s childhood, school days, university days, rebel days, leadership, and statesmanship remembered by his childhood friends Mesfin Negash, Dr. Berhane Woubshet, Seyoum Mesfin (ex foreign minister and current ambassador of Ethiopia in China) his younger brother Gizachew Zenawi, Abay Tsehaye, General Samora Yunus, Addisu Legesse, Abadoola Gameda, and Hailemariam Desalegn.

PM Meles Zenawi was born on May 8, 1955 (Ginbot 1, 1947 according to Ethiopian Calendar) in the town of Adwa, Tigrai province. He completed his elementary school in just 2 years at the Queen Sheba Elementary school.

PM Meles Zenawi was given a full scholarship to study at the General Wingate school, Addis Ababa based boarding school. He successfully completed his high school studies with 9A’s in matriculation in and joined the Haile Selassie I University (now known as Addis Ababa University) for a couple of years and left for the bushes of Tigrai to fight against the then dictator Mengistu Hailemariam.
