Meles Zenawi Had Key Role in Addressing Question of Nationality

Amharic book entitled “Meles and the Question of Nationality in Ethiopia” Published

The visionary Leader Meles Zenawi had a key role in addressing the question of nationality in Ethiopia, Ethiopia Sugar Development Corporation Director General Abay Tsehaye said on Saturday.

Abay made the remark while inaugurating a book titled “Meles and the Question of Nationality in Ethiopia” at Addis Ababa University produced by Center for Developmental Studies (CDS).

On the occasion, Abay stated that the Visionary Leader Meles had a key role in addressing the question of nationality in Ethiopia based on the context of the country.

The question of nationality was first raised by the nations, nationalities and peoples and had to be addressed fully which Meles had undertaken in a scientific way, he said.

Chairperson of CDS and President of the Ethiopian Civil Service University, Dr. Hailemichael Abera on the occasion said Meles Zenawi’s manifold thoughts have brought all-round renaissance to Ethiopia. His thoughts are cross boundary and of great influence internationally, he said.

The author of the book and Chief Executive Officer of CDS, Zefaniyah Alemu for his part said the book aims at showing how the question of nationality in Ethiopia was addressed and established on a firm foundation through the leadership of the leader, researcher, and thinker Meles Zenawi.

The book deals with how Meles who was one of the prominent thinkers of our world addressed the question of nationality in Ethiopia, he said.

The book which is written in Amharic has 199 pages and five chapters. It is published by Ethiopian Civil Service University Press.
